(2017 c90) Neat & Tangled, Martha Stewart, T Holtz Distress Oxide Ink

For my gift bag decoration as you can see on the right: I used Neat and Tangled’s Fractal Cloud  in my Misti Stamping Tool  to stamp in a circle making a star.  As you can see in the picture on the right, I cut masks and sponged the background with Distress Oxide Inks by Ranger , then pulled off the cloud masks and sponged through the negative mask with the yellow.   Then I spattered gold watercolor over the piece.  I then punched around the outside with Martha Stewart Swirling Lace, this is outdated but can be found on eBay.  Last I secured it to a Dollar Store gift bag to dress it up.

(2017 c88) Hampton Arts Pink Winter Penguins

For Today’s card I used the Penguin stamp & die set by Hampton Arts. I used Prismacolor Premium Colored Pencils on the penguins and blended with OMS (Oderless Mineral Spirits) and a blending stub. The Christmas tree from Hampton Art CHRISTMAS TREES Clear Stamp and Die Set by Hampton Art SC0739 was stamped with Versamark & heat embossed in pink as well as the sentiment. The background was painted with watered down Distress Inks by Ranger.

My second “Most Memorable Christmas Gift” was when I was a teenager and I received my first store bought outfit, a pant & top ensamble.  My mom made all my clothes growing up and this was a huge event for me, I was so excited!

(2017 c87) Hero Arts Hanakkah

My two Hanakkah cards’ sentiments were stamped with Hero Arts DC212 Blessings Stamp and Cut. The Minorah was created with Spellbinders Nestabilities Standard Circles Sm and the bottom half of the  Sizzix Bigz Die – Hardware Findings created the base.  The candles were stamped with a single rubber stamp that I had unmounted years ago, so I don’t even know who made it.  I made the gold and blue card first then did more research and realized that Blue, White and Silver are the traditional colors for Hanakkah.

For the  Tim Holtz Compass Blueprint I stamped on a piece of designer paper from my stash and heat embossed with black and highlighted the outside circle and N, S, E, W with Yellow Wink of Stella, the inked the outside ring with Tim Holtz Distress Ink by Ranger “Weathered Wood”.   Then cut it out with the die and mounted with black fun foam on the Tim Holtz Headstone which was randomly brushed with Versamark and highlighted with gold embossing powder.  This was placed on the base which was cut from THoltz Vintage Cabinet.  The sentiment Happy Birthday is from: Technique Tuesday’s Sunflower Stamp Set.  For the inside I stamped on gold Shimmerz by DCWV.  The black portion of the compass was left over from the front where I cut the needle out.  Wink of Stella was brushed over the black portion and placed over the stamped image on the gold paper.

(2017 c85) Ornaments with Alcohol Inks, Cuttlebug, Lawnfawn, Xcut

As I remenise on Christmases past, I guess my most memorable gift was when I was about 5 and my favorite auntie (who was a seamstress) gave me a little suitcase full of clothes she had made for my new baby doll that my Mom & Dad (oops Santa) gave me that year. I about wore that baby out changing her clothes!

The DIAMOND TREES Anna Griffin A2 embossing folder and Border by Cuttlebug is outdated and can be found on ebay & Amazon.

Dies used:  Lawn Fawn – Stitched Ornaments Dies  and Merry & Bright from X-Cuts

The sentiment and ornament toppers were cut from

The sentiment and ornament tops were cut from DCWV 6×6 Brights Glitter & Foil  paper and the ornament shapes were cut from DCWV Shimmers Stack.

and Applied scribbles of Ranger Alcohol Inks and then sprayed alcohol to blend. The strange thing with using photo paper instead of Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Yupo paper was that the ink really stained the original scribbles. On the first picture on the right I only used 1 color and as you can see the scribbles stained where they were applied even though the lighter color separated out and flowed with the alcohol spray.  On the second sample I sprayed the photo paper with alcohol first and then applied and it flowed a little better. I used several colors on this one. I made many more pieces and you will see them in future cards.

(2017 c84) Sparkling Snowflakes with Sizzix, S-Cuts, WOW or Ranger

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The background was dry embossed with a borrowed Embossing Folder and since it exposed some of the white core of the cardstock, I covered it with Versamark and heat embossed with  a Hologram Embossing Powder that was old and discontinued.  You can find similar EP at WOW and RangerThe snowflake negatives were cut out of vellum with Snowflake S503653 by X-Cut.  The sentiment was cut with Sizzix thinlits die set called Holiday Words: Script. To add sparkle I covered with Statdust Stickles by Ranger.

(2017 c83) Winter Scene using I.O., Newton’s Nook, Sizzix, Darice, Avery Elle

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This watercolor background was painted with Distress Inks by Ranger  diluted with water.  Next I stamped Newton’s Nook Whispering Pines with Distress Oxide Inks by Ranger  called  Iced Spruce.  The deer was cut out with Impression Obsession DIE 1 17-6 Sm Deer die.  The snowflakes from Avery Elle, Snowflakes ST-17-27 were stamped & heat embossed with white.  I spattered water on the background and then thinned white paint.   For the Topper on the frame I added a die cut by Darice, Snowflake Boarder 2014-42.  Happy Birthday is from Sizzix Celebration Words, Script.

(2017 c82) Wreath, Lawn Fawn, Spellbinders, Tattered Angels

The leaves were cut from different colored vellum with Small Stitched Leaves die by Lawn Fawn  as you can see in photo to the left. For the background, first I covered white cardstock with stains by Tim Holtz/Ranger (Citron, Blue Print Blue)  I tried to follow this Rub Away Stencil Techniqu but I think I let The Coffee Shop spray mist by Tattered Angels dry too much before trying to rub off & it got pretty ragged see px on the right.  The green boarder was a partial cut using Floral Ovals by Spellbinders. Th sentiment is from Thankful by Ellen Hutson.

(2017 c81) Winter Wonderland, Impression Obsession, Penny Black, Sizzix

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I had fun coloring the background with cheap watercolors by Crayola. The small trees were cut from green cardstock  with Impression Obsession dies called Fir Trees DIE084-V.  For the largest tree I used Sizzix dies called Woodlands 660978I lightly brushed white paint over the branches.  The deer were stamped with Nature’s Friends by Penny Black.  To finish I cut the sentiment out of DCWV  with Sizzix thinlits die set called Holiday Words: Script.

Today’s card features Peaceful Poinsettia by Taylored Expressions and the matching die.
