For me personally Shaker Cards make me so happy, so I chose a shaker for an encouragement card today.
I love Tim Holtz’s new Texture Fades! Like yesterday’s card, I used Tim Holtz Sizzix Botanical 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder . For the central flower I used a discontinued dry pigments product called Lumin Arte which I mixed with water and a little Gum Arabic. I created the shaker using 2 pieces of repurposed plastic packaging . I topped the base piece with a fun foam oval frame and inserted beads and then topped with the second plastic panel and For the oval frame, by taping 2 dies together I cut white cardstock with Die-namics Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX by MFT My Favorite Things.

I love Tim Holtz’s new Texture Fades! I used Tim Holtz Sizzix Botanical 3D Texture Fades Embossing folder 662716 for the central oval. I first applied Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks by Ranger to the flat debossed side of the folder embossed a piece of white cardstock 2 times to get good coverage. This was a technique I saw at Jennifer McGuire’s Creative Uses of Embossing Folders she shows multiple techniques. I then colored the leaves lightly with Tumbled Glass and the flower with Picked Raspbery.
For the oval frame, by taping 2 dies together I cut black cardstock with Die-namics Inside & Out Stitched Oval STAX by MFT My Favorite Things. The light teal layer with Die-namics Wonky Stitched Rectangle STAX by MFT and the black layer with Die-namics Inside & out Diagonal Stitched Rectangle by MFT.

I started with white cardstock and colored with Distress Inks by Ranger Candied Apple & Blueprint Sketch. I sponged Versamark Ink through sections of the SA113 Every Which Way Stencil by Hero Arts. I heat embossed with Kaleidoscope Transparent by Stampendous. Then I sponged over the whole strip with Distress Inks by Ranger Faded Jeans, Concord Grape & Candied Apple. I repeated the stenciling but heat embossed with white WOW Embossing Powder the second time. Finally I cut the strip in half & mounted each on white cardstock and stamped the flag and July 4 2018 on the back with Distress Inks and heat embossed with clear. Last I used my hot laminator to laminate them.

Here we go again for Father’s Day: My best CRAFTING BUDDY had this idea for us to make Father’s Day cards and take to one of our local Nursing Homes since some of the residents may not receive any cards for Father’s Day.
I made 11 cards to add to my friend’s 11 cards. I used Bob’s Old Truck Precision Die from Frantic Stamper, Classic Truck Die from Impression Obsession to cut out the trucks. The stamped truck is from a company that has gone out of business called Mark’s Finest Papers stampset called Big Boy Toys 2011.

The HELLO die from Ellen Hutson was heat embossed twice with black EP. I pulled out one of my older stamps: Hero Arts CG140 Poppy Background. I inked the stamp by swiping Distress Inks by Ranger. The shaker window was cut with Tim Holtz Sizzix Thinlits 660220 Mixed Media Die. Look closely & you can see that I inserted gold vellum in 5 of the honeycomb shapes. I used fun foam to back the watercolor paper with the die shape cut out to accomodate the shaker elements. I cut the sentiment with the Lawn Fawn Happy Birthday Boarder die. I used a Failed attempt at foiling for cutting the sentiment and the Bee from Studio G VC0027 Series 51 little stamp set (can be found on ebay) You can see my other card from that attempt on April 2 (I must have foiled 5 different pieces with varrying degrees of success that day) HERE
