(2018 c52) Ellen Hutson, plaid Hydrangea

(2018 c52) E Hutson Plaid Hydrangea 1

It may look a little crazy to see a plaid Hydrangea, but I had fun making this Watercolor background with Martha Stewart Patterning Brush Set #32249 using Artist’s Loft Fundamentals Pearlescent Watercolor Pan Set From Michaels.  Next I stamped the Mondo Hydrangea by Essentials by Ellen Hutson(2018 c52) E Hutson Plaid Hydrangea on Vellum with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Gold WOW Embossing Powder then I fussy cut the top portion of the flower and folded the side and bottom corners around the plaid base to secure it.   I added Yellow Stickles by Ranger to the centers of the flowers.  The sentiment called Brushstroke Wonderful by Julie EEDIEJ-044-16 from Ellen Hutson must have been discontinued (I can no longer find it on their site).

(2018 c51) Happy Birthday Spring Flowers

More experimenting on photo paper: This time I stamped with Alcohol Inks!  (2018 c51) Happy Birthday Spring Flowers alc inkAs you can see on the left photo, I used the sponge applicator and my Misti Stamping Tool to apply Ranger Alcohol Inks Watermellon, Red Pepper & Terra Cotta  to my stamp and stamped several times!  I used a stamp from Nina Bracket when she was designing for The Craft’s Meow which closed in 2013 (why do I seem to especially LOVE my stamps that have been discontinued or the store has closed!!!!!?????)

For the background  I totally spritzed with H2O and then sprinkled Ken Oliver Color Burst (Watercolor Pigment Powder) over it and tilted back & forth to move the pigments. The sentiment was cut from silver Cricut Iron on Foil with Tim Holtz Alterations Die set called Celebrate by Sizzix.

(2018 c50) Happy Birthday Spring Flowers 1

This card face was amazingly enough done on HP Glossy Photo Paper! Yes, you read that right!  For today’s card I stamped the Bluebonnets with the stampset called Stately Flowers 1 by Melanie Muenchinger at Gina K DesignsI colored with Ranger Alcohol Inks.  For the background  I totally spritzed with H2O and then sprinkled Ken Oliver Color Burst (Watercolor Pigment Powder) over it and tilted back & forth to move the pigments.

The sentiment was stamped with an old set from GinaK Designs called Inside and Out (it must be discontinues, because I can NOT find it at their shop anymore)

The image is from GinaK Designs A Year of Boarders.   I painted the image with Zig Wink of Stella  (pink, green, yellow & clear).  Then I outlined with Prismacolor Premium Colored Pencils and blended with Gamsol Odorless Mineral Spirits and Blending Stubs.  I punched the boarder with Martha Stewart Double Loops, this is outdated but can be found on eBay.

Both purple backgrounds were made on watercolor paper with Ken Oliver Color Burst (Watercolor Pigment Powder).  The central one was also spritnkled with waterdrops. The sentiment is from  Painted  Greetings stamp set by AltENew.  I stamped on Vellum with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with black WOW Embossing Powder .  It was cut out with a retired set from Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio that can still be found on Amazon, Ebay or Etsy. The main shape was cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Eight Etched Dies.

(2018 c47) Foiled Mandala Blessings

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Background base was created with Violet Ken Oliver Color Burst (Watercolor Pigment Powder).  Next I cut the My Favorite Things Die-Namics  Mesmerizing Mandalas and I used it as a stencil to sponge 2 diagonal images across the card with regular Distress Inks by Ranger (the Blueprint Sketch looks purple sponged over the violet background)  I used the same Madala “stencil” to create the “flower” in the previous post and then since it was coated with the Heidi Swapp Reactive Screen Ink Minc Liquid Toners 313000 I ran it through my hot laminator with silver Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Foil.  There were still sticky spots on the foiling, so I ran it through again with deep blue Heidi Swap Minc Reactive Foil this time and it stuck to random sticky spots, I love the “distressed” look it made.    The sentiment Blessings was cut with Blessings stamp & Cut set by Hero Arts

My Favorite Things Die-Namics  Mesmerizing Mandalas was cut and used as a stencil to apply Heidi Swapp Reactive Screen Ink Minc Liquid Toners 313000

As you can see on the closeup below:

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I used a stiff brush and brushed across the stencil and used feathery brush strokes radiating outward on the outside edges. Removed the stencil and let it dry before running through my Heat Laminator with Rose Gold – Heidi Swapp Minc Reactive Foil.

I sponged the “Mandala FLOWER” and background with  Distress Oxide Inks by Ranger  Carved Pumpkin & Squeezed Lemonade & Peeled Paint.  I then used the stiff brush to create a sketchy stem & leaves for the flower and foiled it after dry.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts Color Layering Peacock CM126.  It was stamped with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with a blue WOW embossing powder.

The background was created with  Tim Holtz Alcohol Ink Yupo paper . OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA I applied Ranger Alcohol Inks and then sprayed alcohol to blend.  As you can see on the close-up on the right I stamped the flowers on the background with Shadow Grey Ranger Archival Ink and quickly wiped it off with a microfiber cloth. This follows Jennifer McGuire’s Alcohol Ghost Stamping Technique video seen Here.  I used my Misti stamping tool and Versamark Ink and heat embossed with black WOW Embossing Powder   Stamps used: Hero Arts Hello Flowers  and co-ordinating Blossom Cuts dies (from Frantic Stamper) and for the sentiment another Hero Arts Sentiment set that seems to be discontinued.  The vellum was cut with   discontinued dies from spellbinders called  Spellbinders Edgeabilities Mix & Match Classic Petal Dies.
