(2019 c81) One Layer Card
Ok I am CASE ing Lisa at Life Of A BZscrapper today, but with a TWIST: she had layers of frames but I did everything on one layer of white cardstock and EMPRESSED all my dies and masked to stencil!
First I empressed the discontinued die from Spellbinders Labels Thirty Eight. Next I embossed with another discontinued set called Spellbinders S5-209 Gold Labels Twenty-Eight in the center. Then cut masks with the same dies and applied Distress Oxide Inks by Ranger through Heidi Swapp Lattice Stencil.
For the jar and flower I empressed with Tim Holtz Sizzix Framelits Die Set Flower Jar 662270 and painted with Distress Inks by Range.
Celebrate was empressed with Tim Holtz Alterations Die set called Celebrate by Sizzix.
As you can see in the photo below at first I tried to stencil with my sponges (the one on the left) and thought that was way too bold (I’ll use this at a later date). So I did it again for today’s card & used the Nuvo Dual Ended Blender Brush by Tonic for a softer effect.
To finish it off I also used the brush to add a bit of color on the outside of the die shape by holding the die on the top of my card &lightly brushing ink. see below.
Challenges Entered:
SimonSaysStamp: Clean & Simple
TheCatsPajamas: Chal. #360 – Clean & Simple
SimplyLessIsMore: Chal. #402 – OLC Stencils
Beautiful and you achieved the look of more layers using that technique.
Very pretty! It’s amazing how detailed this card is, Lagene! Do you need a special machine to ’empress’ or can it be done with a Big Kick? If so, what ‘sandwich’ do you use? I know I’ve done this before, but it was by accident, when my first Big Kick was kicking the bucket!
I used my Big Kick plus the silicone shim for embossing.
Beautiful blue hues on this card. You built a great frame with your stencilling, perfect to highlight this lovely bouquet. Thanks so much for sharing and for playing along at Less is More.
Beautiful stenciling and embossing. Lots of detail on this beautiful one layer card. Thanks for playing with us at Less Is More.
