(2018 c18) Valentine Hero Arts, Color Burst, Deco Art Mist

Lots more fun playing with my homemade hearts background stencil that was cut into watercolor paper. Used Spellbinders Media MiXage One Heartand  Hero Arts Valentine and three Hearts fancy dies .  You can see the beginning process on the previous post HERE

Today I used that stencil which has a rough layer of the Faber Castell Whipped Spackel  on it to create today’s Valentine. I was doing a lot of experimenting, so I first put it over another piece of watercolor paper (which will be used in a future project) and sprinkled Ken Oliver Color Burst (Watercolor Pigment Powder)  and then spritzed with water.  As you can see the paste on the stencil is not very colorful, so see next picture for the fix.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Next I spritzed Deco Art Media Mist Magenta over another watercolor paper (yet another piece for a future project)OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Then I couldn’t stand wasting all that mist on my craft mat, so I started sopping it up on pieces of plain cardstock and another piece of watercolor paper (on the far right) I have to LAUGH  and tell on myself— I started with the watercolor paper and sopped up some color and thought I had picked up my water spray bottle,  I sprayed and sopped again several times before I realized I had been re-spraying with the Magenta each time! (I was thinking that the Deco Art Media Mist was a pigment that MUST stay EXTREMELY intense with water sprays….Ha Ha! That’s embarassing)  So when I finally started using the water spray,  I got the lighter papers in the center and on the left.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I lightly swiped Versamark Ink over the colored stencil  and sprinkled WOW Embossing Powder & heat embossed. I mounted it on one of the lighter colored papers.   As you can see the Deeply colored watercolor paper on the left , I cut out the LOVE with Spellbinders Media MiXage One Heart die and then covered it with the pink Zig Wink Of Stella.  It is easier to see the sparkle in real life when the card is tilted back & forth, the sparkle really catches the light.OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
