(2017 c23) Rock Salt Rejoice

Rejoice, Christ is Risen, He is Risen indeed!

I prepped a piece of discarded corrugated cardboard by gluing designer paper over it. Then I put a thinned coat of white gesso over it and sponged the edges & streaks across the surface with Tim Holtz products:  Distress Paint Faded Jeans & Broken China I stamped with a retired stampset  from Gina K Designs by Nina Brackett called Christ is Risen  onto the upper center of the panel & Heat embossed with Seaglass Blue Embossing Powder. Next I prepped the chipboard wings by painting with very wet yellow watercolor and sprinkling rock salt over & let it dry.  When the rock salt was brushed away it left the darker areas where the salt had attracted the wet paint.  I then stamped the same image on the Popped out wings and carefully aligned to the image on the base before gluing the wings down.  Finally I punched holes in the corners and tied knots in sheer ribbon for hanging.
