(2017 c9) Mixed Media, Color Burst, Butterfly
For my Mixed Media card, I started by sprinkling a powdered Pigment product called Color Burst by Ken Oliver on watercolor paper and the spritzing with water to make the pigments migrate on the paper. After dry, I used Folk Art Peel N Stick Stencils – Thin & Thick Chevron to apply Golden Heavy Gel (Gloss). ####ALWAYS put your stencil in a pan of soapy water and clean right away!####### I dried this background paper completely, then shifted the stencil down just a bit and applied Golden Molding Paste with a spatula . After it was dry I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks to sponge across the stenciled area across the top half. The Glossy Heavy Gell resisted & let the colors from the paper show through and where the Moulding Paste was it accepted the Salty Ocean Distress Ink. As you can see on the picture of the inside of the card to the right I used another piece of watercolor paper that was also colored with Color Burst Pigments. This is the negative that was left over after cutting out the Wings of Hope by Spellbinders butterfly that I put on the front of the card. The butterfly on the front has a roughly pounced glaze of Gold Creative Medium Metalic from Imagine Crafts On the inside Happy Birthday was stamped with one of my old Mark’s Finest Paper set called Pansy Riot. Happy birthday on the front was cut out of another Color Burst colored piece with Tim Holtz Alterations Die set called Celebrate by Sizzix.
Finally I covered the whole thing with Aleene’s Duncan Collage Pauge (Glossy)
