(2016 c24) May Flowers with Color Burst by Ken Oliver
Background was created with Color Burst by Ken Oliver by sprinkling the dry powders on watercolor paper and then spraying with water (I never tire of watching the magic of the colors moving and blending) After totally dry I stamped with Penny Black stamp sets: Sprigs and Nature’s Friends with Versamark Ink and heat embossed with Emerald EP.
Next I stamped the little flowers on the bottom left with a pale ink and then applied water inside the tiny blossoms to reactivate the Color Burst and then blotted with a paper towel to wick away most of the color. Then I painted the petals with watercolor. When dry I stamped the same stamp again with Versamark this time and sprinkled Shamrock Green EP. With a tiny dry brush I brushed the embossing powder off of the colored blossoms. Then heated the EP. I did the same procedure for the larger blossoms in the middle.
The happy was cut with a die both in this piece and again in another Color Burst Background sheet done in Ultramarine Blue and Merlot. I inlaid the blue happy in the negative space on the card. *****So since the word is inlaid and lies flat, I hope it qualifies for a 1 layer card.
I borrowed the happy die from a friend and now can’t find out who makes it. If you recognize the die, will you please type that info in your comment? Thanks!
