(2015 c63) Watercolor Background Journal Cover

I made Journals by covering composition notebooks with watercolored watercolor paper and then decoupauged stamped flowers and butterflies. I finished off with a picket fence from Cricut’s Preserves Cartridge. Stamp sets used can be found at Mark’s Finest Papers Stamp Co.: Lots of Words (the butterfly),  Oopsy Daisy and the Poppies set is discontinued.

I stamped one of the poppies and one of the daisy clusters on white cardstock & colored with Copics Marker and then fussy cut them out. The rest of the poppies and daisys were stamped on tissue paper and colored with Copics also. Then I used a tiny paintbrush dipped in water and drew a water line close to the boarder of the stamped image and carefully, gently pulled the excess tissue away from the image.  This gives a frayed edge that disapears into the background when it is decoupaged onto the background.
